The Travel program is an age-based program with U8, U10, U12 and U14 gender-specific divisions. Most divisions offer multiple teams at different skill levels to give our players the ability to compete and develop their individual and team skill. There are no tryouts but we do evaluate players annually and will make adjustments to rosters to help our players succeed. We will ask during registration if your child is a first time player so that we may place them accordingly. Additionally, your comments about your players history and skill level are welcome when registering.
The U8 division is for players that turn 8 during the season that will move up to U10 the following season. The U8 travel program is the only Co-Ed division of Travel. It is the next step in both training and level of competition after In-House. The curriculum we use which is supported throughout the season by professional trainers will focus on both individual skills, passing and movement and team building. Players interested in signing up for U8 Travel should have a basic knowledge of the positions and their responsibilities and have previously played soccer.
The U10, U12 and U14 divisions are structured with teams placed in different levels of competition. We use a curriculum which is supported throughout the season by professional trainers that still focuses heavily on individual skills, passing and movement but also incorporates tactical and team development in the upper divisions. We hope to develop the passion and skill in your player that will allow them to compete at higher levels of play in club, high school and beyond.
The season is typically 9 weeks with a no-play weekend for the Memorial or Labor Day weekend. Practices are held twice per week at Keller Park in Crown Point on 97th Ave 1/4 mile East of Main St. Games are mostly on Sundays after 12:00 PM and some Saturday weekends as well. Home games for U8 and U10 are played at St. Anthony's Hospital on South Main St. Home games for U12 and U14 are played at the Crown Point Sports Complex on North St. Travel distance to neighboring communities is generally no more than 45 minutes.
