Referee requirements


During the season:


  • During the season required to keep your referee availability up to date at least two weeks ahead of the current date. 
  • Accept or decline referee assignments within two days (48 hours) of receiving your assignment. 
  • Stack officials availability how to
    • Set up your availability on all Saturdays you can for the season. If your availability is recurring you can select repeat weekly and select Saturdays.
      • Please only do repeats if you're open on all those dates.
      • If you know of any Saturday's that you can't work please mark the time unavailable.
    • Referee login portal is under Referees tab.



Required prior to the start of the season:


  • If 18 or older we require the following background check
     
    • Failure to submit background check will disqualify a referee from participating in our program.
      • (This is done every season to ensure our children are protected)

      • When submitting the form please select volunteer during the sign up even though you are not. This a limitation in the form.

        • Crown Point Youth Soccer's insuring body SAY Soccer / SAY National has teamed with Reference Services, Inc. (RSI), an Indiana based Company to funnel the background check procedure through the National Office. Here's how it works...
          1. Crown Point Youth Soccer (CPYS) directs volunteers to our site to fill out the Volunteer Screening Form (VSF)
          2. SAY communicates to the SAY Area Volunteer Administrator (SAVA) when we receive forms from your league.
          3. The SAVA approves any or all applicants that they would like background checked. SAY doesn't run screens that the SAVA does not approve, we simply archive the applicants that you don't wish to run and move on.
          4. After background checks are run on the applicants you approved, SAY will provide the SAVA with a username and password to review the results. If a disqualifying event comes up, we communicate back to the SAVA immediately as well as provide you with a listing of which referees have been background checked for your SAYArea/District.  Once the review has been completed, you will be notified of your eligibility as a
          5. CPYS reserves the right to refuse a volunteer a role in our program regardless of the outcome of the background check.
          6. All information received from SAY National regarding a volunteer's history will be kept confidential.
  • Keeping your SAY certification updated.
    • Once your in our reffing system we will reach out to you prior to the start of the season to offer course refresher and also updates on rule changes.

  • Concussion certificate

If you have taken one of the following concussion within the last 3 years please reply with your certificate. If not select one of the online trainings. After successfully completing the on-line training, you will be offered an opportunity to print out a personalized "certificate of completion”. Please send a copy of that certificate to the following address. A concussion certificate is good for 3 years.
